Chef hit in boiling oil explosion
A chef who was covered in boiling oil after a deep fat fryer exploded in a West Lothian hotel is being treated in hospital.
The 30-year-old man is in St John's Hospital following the accident at the West Port Hotel in Linlithgow just after 0815 GMT on Wednesday.
He has reportedly suffered 12% burns, affecting his shoulder, the top of his back, left arm and around his ear.
It is understood an oil drum connected to the deep fat fryer exploded.
