Crush accident worker 'serious'
A worker is in a serious condition in hospital after being crushed between a lorry and a tar spreader.
The man, from Kilmarnock, suffered pelvic and spinal injuries in the incident on the Rhonehouse to Tongland road in Dumfries and Galloway.
The accident happened on Tuesday morning while roadworks were being carried out in the area.
Police said the man had been taken to Dumfries Infirmary for treatment to his injuries.
The Health and Safety Executive has been informed.
