Site death in Oxfordshire
A MAN has died after the arm of a eight-tonne front-loader vehicle crushed a car.
Shortly after 8am on Sunday 13th January, emergency crews were called to the Cherwell Gate development in Broughton Road, Banbury, which is managed by Linden Homes.
The front-loader toppled on to its side and its arm fell on to a Citroen car with three people inside, crushing it.
It is understood the car had driven on to the site and waited for the truck to finish maneuvering, when it toppled on its side and on to the car.
The front seat passenger died after suffering serious head injuries.
The male driver and a second passenger in the back of the car were taken to the Horton Hospital. The driver is thought to have sustained minor injuries while the other passenger has serious, but not life-threatening head injuries.
Police, fire and ambulance crews all attended. The HSE and Police are still at the scene investigating.
